Editor, The Beacon:

I cannot fathom why any teacher would think it a good plan to arm non-uniformed school personnel, as that would seem to make the adults on campus the first target of any deranged shooters.

I hope we’re smarter than that but, then, we are the nation that has somehow allowed a minute fraction of our population, influenced by the NRA and its cohorts who favor having assault guns be legal, to dictate an element of our existence that has us more fearful than the threat of a nuclear bombing did in the 1950s.

How about a referendum?

I could be wrong; how about a poll by The Beacon to see how folks feel about assault weapons? Are negative feelings about military-type weapons limited to big-city liberals?
