It’s 40 feet tall, and the people who wanted to see it torn down can sit and play shut-mouth tonight.

The U.S. Supreme Court rendered its decision, and it wasn’t just the conservative justices the left hates who made it happen. Justices Stephen Breyer and Elena Kagan voted with the majority. It went down like God intended. Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Ruth Bader Ginsburg were the left’s familiar sour apples.

The public land the left would defend to the death against any hint of Christianity is in Maryland. The symbol erected in the early 1920s commemorated the death of American servicemen overseas in World War I. It’s called the Peace Cross.

Left-wing pundits mention that there weren’t that many who died. The righteously indignant believed it to be a high-value target.

I love the majority argument from the judges. An old monument isn’t the same as erecting a new one? Even I can’t defend that. And that’s my real takeaway from the entire issue. The cross should stand because it isn’t the government “establishing” religion. It should stand because it’s part of our history.

Frankly, I couldn’t care less about recent local skirmishes meant to obliterate the entire history of the Confederacy. It doesn’t matter to me. Symbols that commemorate fallen heroes from World War I, however, do.

The people who tried to get more justices than Sotomayor and Ginsburg to side with them know what that cross stands for. They detest Christianity so much they can’t help themselves. I laugh at those from the American Humanist Association and their three friends who decided the destruction of that cross should be the focus of their efforts. They lose.

I do, however, agree with the opinion of the malcontents’ attorney. She views the decision as narrow. They did leave every monument ever erected after the Peace Cross in play. I say bring it on.

Those on the left have become so radical that they can’t even drive past a monument to dead American soldiers. Their argument is that crosses erected on public land must be torn down even though nobody’s being forced to worship in any government church. Jesus is their target.

And that’s where we are. The left is void of reason. The Orlando Sentinel just supported anybody but Donald Trump for president on their editorial page in an election not scheduled for about 500 days.

Tantrums by the mainstream media don’t change reality. The 2020 results won’t change the Supreme Court one bit.

Focus. The Peace Cross matters. Think …
