I’ve previously made mention of President Ronald Reagan’s re-election in 1984. I’m going to point out the similarities just one more time. Then, Democrats can continue to double down on collusion/obstruction. They can ignore history.

What my Democrat friends need to understand is that nobody other than political junkies remembers Reagan’s opponent. That’s because former Vice President Walter Mondale never really mattered.

Polls during the race had Mondale ahead. Sound familiar? For those of you who protect your children from the truth, Reagan won 49 of the 50 states. Democrats always point out that Mondale won his home state of Minnesota. That’s like pointing out one punch some fighter landed on Mike Tyson in his heyday.

The most important facet of Reagan’s historical victory is what has stuck to the historical account. I marvel at being able to have watched history being made and being afforded the hindsight of real historical accounts 35 years later. I’ll enjoy watching President Barack Obama become a footnote. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will be less historically significant, but I digress.

Reagan ran on a strong economy. President Donald Trump will be able to tout his record of achievement with regard to our economy. More black Americans, more women and more minorities have jobs as a percentage than ever before. Democrats must ignore that.

We are now the leader in energy production and exports in the world. Democrats must run on that being a bad thing. Most of my clients enjoyed lower taxes and higher income. Democrats will echo the “nuh uh” chant.

I could mention foreign policy, the strengthening of the military, and the rolling back of government regulations. I could be talking about Reagan, or I could be talking about Trump.

Democrats tell us that oversight is their primary function in the House of Representatives. U.S. Reps. Jerrold Nadler and Adam Schiff will be to blame when Trump wins.

There are 19 Democrats playing the part of Mondale. Democrats not legislating and overreaching to politically assassinate their most formidable opponent since Reagan are only eclipsed by the memory that they are defeated before the contest begins. Ignore history at your own peril, my Democrat friends.

Who will play the part of Mondale? Trump doesn’t need 49 states, just one more electoral vote than his opponent. Watch that damn Electoral College thwart the will of Dems again. They subpoena tax returns and Mueller. Think …
