Shortly after 4 a.m. Dec. 5, DeLand police officers responded to a motel in DeLand, where they learned that a man had rented a room for himself and his girlfriend (in her mid-20s). Boyfriend said he and the young woman had “been in an ongoing intimate relationship for several months.”
He said Girlfriend became furious when she “caught him on the phone” with what she thought was another woman.
Boyfriend ran out of the room and, seeking shelter, called a male cousin of his who was staying with a woman in another room in the motel.
Girlfriend chased Boyfriend and threw some rocks at him; Boyfriend’s cousin let him in; Girlfriend kept throwing rocks; and two of those rocks broke sections of Cousin’s motel-room window.
Though Girlfriend told police that nothing had happened, they arrested her on a charge of assault and took her to jail.
