Two individuals went “shopping” at a DeLand-area grocery store late at night June 26.
They loaded up their shopping cart, headed for a self-checkout lane, “pretended to conduct a transaction, and left without paying.”
Store personnel estimate the pair stole about $225 in groceries.
Looks like self-checkout lanes not only mean the possibility of fewer job seekers being hired, they also offer would-be crooks an opportunity to steal.
