A Deltona man told a sheriff’s deputy July 25 that someone stole his Glock pistol, which had been lying on a nightstand in the victim’s bedroom. The firearm had been loaded and was in a holster.

The victim said the pistol appears to have been stolen during a weekend party that began Friday, July 19, and that he knew some but not all the people who attended.

In a later conversation with a Sheriff’s Office detective, the victim revealed that the event in question had been a sex party that he’d advertised on a social-media site.

He said the party began Friday, July 19, and ended Sunday, July 21. The party’s theme was “anonymous sex,” and those attending “were encouraged to come and go as they pleased throughout the weekend. They were told to bring along any friends or acquaintances they desired, and guests were encouraged to utilize fictitious names, or use no name at all.”

About 20 people had attended the party, and the victim said “he only knew about five or six personally.”

The detective told the victim that activity on the case would be suspended unless and until more information became available.
