People tend not to think about health insurance until they’re riding in the back of an ambulance or sitting in the lobby of a hospital. But one of the most important decisions people make each year is about their health insurance.
Choosing the right plan today could save you thousands of dollars in medical bills tomorrow. But don’t wait too long, because the deadline to sign up for 2020 health insurance is only a few days away.
“Don’t wait,” said Sunsure Insurance agent Rob Lovenbury. “A lot of people don’t understand that if you don’t enroll in this window, you’re locked out for a whole year. So finding an agent and getting things done in the open enrollment period is very important.”
This year’s open enrollment period to sign up for a health care plan is from Oct. 1 through Dec. 15, and the period to sign up for a Medicare plan is from Oct. 15 through Dec. 7.
“The enrollment period allows those who already have a plan to look at what’s new in the coming year and make changes,” said Rob. “It’s also the time when people who are new to Medicare and Obamacare can enroll in a plan.”
But with so many different plans to choose from, it can be hard to know where to start. That’s why Sunsure Insurance is here to help.
Sunsure Insurance Agency is a Florida Blue and Florida Health Care Plans agency for health insurance. Founded by Vincent Ferriero in 2004, Sunsure Insurance helps people select the plan that’s right for them and their needs.
“People could go directly onto the marketplace to buy their insurance, but they don’t have the expertise to know what to get,” said Rob. “Each plan is different, and what fits you probably won’t fit the person next to you. That’s why we’re there to help.”
Sunsure has nine different offices around Florida and more than 90 agents to help guide you through the process of signing up for health insurance.
“The thing about having an agent is that you have somebody to fall back on,” said Rob. “If the plan isn’t right, if you have a billing problem or a claim that’s not being paid, you have somebody to be your intermediary and solve any issues that arise.”
In addition to health insurance, Sunsure also offers life insurance, disability income insurance, dental insurance, and travel insurance, as well as vision, critical illness, hospital confinement, and accident plans.
Sunsure Insurance is a member of the DeLand Area Chamber of Commerce and Orange City Alliance, the West Volusia Regional Chamber of Commerce, and the Volusia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. They are also a drop-off center for Toys for Tots.
Sunsure Insurance Agency is located at 760 S. Volusia Ave., Suite 300, in Orange City. Their hours are 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
