Soaring into the Athens Theatre this June is Preps Dance School & Company’s production of Dumbo!, inspired by the 1941 animated film.

Dumbo! explores the story of an elephant who is a bit different from the others in a circus clan. At first, Jumbo Jr. is discouraged by these differences, “a face only a mother could love” they say, which how this baby elephant acquires the nickname Dumbo. But as the story goes, our differences are what make us special. With a little help from a very small friend, Dumbo soars to new heights.

Preps Dance will be loading their train full of new and exciting characters, including not one, but two Ringleaders, Siamese twins, Flying Scarlet’s, and so much more!

Dumbo, played by 8-year-old Macie Warner, will be accompanied by a cast of award-winning performers who are no strangers to the stage.

Both Macie and her elephant mother, Haleigh Corbett, hold the 2019 Regional Title for Best Dancer in their respected age categories.

Look out for Mr. Stork, he might just come along and drop a bundle fun in your lap. Straight from Heaven up above, here is a show for you and your family to love.

Come one, come all and be a part of the magic. Let your spirit soar through this timeless classic and experience a circus filled with song and dance.

Director Lyndsay Fuller encourages audiences to join them for "the greatest show" this town has ever seen! “Preps Dance School and Company will amaze you as we push limitations with this rising adventure.”
