David Rauschenberger: Democrats won’t oust President Trump

My friends on the left have found their platform. There’s just one promise they’re making: They will, if elected in the majority, impeach President Donald Trump.

I told you about Trump Derangement Syndrome. It’s real, my comrades. And hiding it doesn’t appear to be a concern for my Democrat friends. They resist. They ignore the rules. And I’m here to tell you that they have no chance to erase the November 2016 results.

I’d point out that Democrats have to secure a two-thirds majority in part of our Congress to make it happen. And that’s a pipe dream.

I’ve read in numerous columns that Democrats will roll over Republicans and take the majority in the House of Representatives in November 2018. I’d point out that the same polls that Democrats believed in 2016 are the same ones they believe predict the future of Trump’s first midterm election.

I won’t deny Dems will gain ground. But they won’t win a majority. It’s just not going to happen. But let’s just stipulate that they’ll roll over Republicans and take the lead.

Do any of you really believe that Democrats, taking into account the senators up for re-election, will have a two-thirds advantage in the Senate after the dust settles? That’s what the impeachment dream will require. And I’m here to guarantee that it won’t happen.

Those who have spent the past year resisting and planning for an ouster of Donald Trump are grabbing at straws. They know that Special Counsel Robert Mueller hasn’t come up with anything that matters. If they watched anything but CNN and MSNBC or read anything other than The Washington Post or The New York Times, they’d know that the FBI is investigating the Clinton Crime Family Foundation and the Uranium One scandal.

Hillary isn’t safe just yet. But, honestly, I don’t care if Hillary or any of the criminals on the left are prosecuted. I’m fine with moving forward. And I’m fine with Democrats running on an impeachment platform.

Those of you who think you’re not going to endure four years of Trump have bought into a foolish narrative. A book that tells you that everyone who knows Trump knows he’s crazy, stupid and unfit to be commander in chief has been discredited.

If all Democrats have is a total do-over, I pity them. They have no chance of taking a majority in Congress that will facilitate a successful impeachment. But Democrats dream big. I’ll give them that. Think …
