A chance to do laundry —A man does laundry this morning in DeLand at Westgate Laundromat at 638 W. New York Ave. in DeLand. With many in West Volusia without power Sept. 12, a few laundromats were open to accommodate customers post-Hurricane Irma.

The City of DeLand is asking residents here to limit water usage, to minimize contributions to the wastewater-treatment system, which is currently challenged by excessive stormwater and power outages at lift stations around the system.

However, The Beacon has been contacted by folks out of power who desperately need to do laundry.

If you need to wash and dry clothes, we’ve found the following locations open for business:

Westgate Laundromat at 638 W. New York Ave. in DeLand is open until 6 p.m. today, Sept. 12, and regularly open 8 a.m.-6 p.m.

Also in DeLand, Southside Coin Laundry is open at 7 a.m. daily, offering both self-serve and drop-off service at 1200 S. Woodland Blvd.

Coin Laundry will open at 11 a.m. today at 577 Deltona Blvd. in Deltona. This is a 24-hour laundromat.

In East Volusia, we found the Wash Up Laundromat at 977 Beville Road in Daytona Beach open today. Regular hours are 6 a.m.-4 a.m. Also, Koin Kleen Laundry at 166 S. Atlantic Ave.  in Ormond Beach is open until 7 p.m. today, and regularly 8 a.m.-7 p.m.

“Again, please try to minimize or hold off on showering/bathing, doing laundry and flushing toilets,” urges the City of DeLand.
