DeLand's new Assistant City Manager, Mike Grebosz
A familiar face in DeLand city government will be filling the shoes of another longtime administrator.
Formerly the assistant to City Manager Michael Pleus, Mike Grebosz has been named assistant city manager for the city of DeLand.
“We are very excited about Mike’s promotion,” said Pleus in a news release from DeLand city spokesman Chris Graham. “He is energetic, creative and has a passion for public service. We look forward to seeing great things from him.”
Grebosz has been employed by the city for the past 13 years. He initially joined the city as a human-resources intern before serving as special-projects coordinator for three years.
Since 2008, he has served as the assistant to the city manager. Grebosz also has overseen the Spring Hill Community Redevelopment Agency, special-event permitting, risk management and other aspects of city governance.
Grebosz attended Stetson University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science and majored in Management and Human Resources Concentration. He later received a Master of Business Administration from Stetson University.
Grebosz takes over for Dale Arrington, who retired from the same role to take the city-manager position in Orange City.
