Norman Ameling is 100

CELEBRATING — Norman Ameling celebrated his 100th birthday Nov. 25 surrounded by his family. With him are his wife, Lillian, and children Ron Ameling, and Mary Ameling and her husband, Larry Sandwisch. His son Leroy was unable to attend.

 Born on Nov. 25, 1918, in Gibsonburg, Ohio, Norman Ameling celebrated his 100th birthday Nov. 25 at his home at Sterling Court Retirement Community in Deltona.

Mr. Ameling was a laborer for LOF Glass Co. in Toledo, Ohio, for 28 years.

He served as a corporal in the U.S. Army during World War II, 1941-43, when he was honorably discharged after being shot in the shoulder.

Norman was a widower, and had three children with his first wife: Ronald, Mary and Leroy. He has three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Norman married his second wife, Lillian, on April 15, 1972. The couple retired to Florida in 1980.

Happy birthday, Norman! Congratulations on 100 years of mag-nificence.
