DeLand Mayor Bob Apgar introduces Grant Bosco of DeLand, and Grant's friend Josh Fazekis, as the DeLand City Commission prepares to meet May 4. The two DeLand students shadowed the mayor for three hours May 4 after Grant was the winning bidder for the opportunity at a recent auction to raise money for St. Barnabas Episcopal School. Asked how he liked his education in mayoral duties, Grant said, "I would love to be mayor. I liked how you get greeted very well, and you meet a lot of new people." Grant is the grandson of former DeLand Fire Chief George Graves. As he traveled with Apgar on city business, Grant said, he conducted a survey. Seventeen of the 20 people he met had known his grandfather.
