Ray and Ann Linkovich of DeLand celebrated 70 years of marriage June 3. The couple were married on June 3, 1939, in Meriden, Conn.
After honeymooning in New York at the 1939 World’s Fair, the Linkoviches settled in Winsted, Conn., until 1947, when they moved their family to DeLand and started Ray Linkovich Paving and Excavating on East New York Avenue.
They are past members of the Lake Beresford Yacht Club, and, in the late 1960s, built Crows Bluff Marina on West State Road 44 in DeLand.
After retiring, they traveled extensively in their Airstream around the United States, including Alaska, and in Canada.
The Linkovich family includes son David of DeLand; daughter Catherine Darling of Orlando; two grandchildren, Paul Darling of Spokane, Wash., and Rhonda Darling of Kailua, Kona, Hawaii; and four great-grandchildren, Ryland Darling, Brynne Darling, Quinton Darling and Kalen Darling.
The Linkoviches’ family and friends join together in wishing them a very happy anniversary and many blessings now and in the future.
