Day Shift:
Burglary - S. Woodland. A man reported that sometime between 11-03-09 at about 1600 hours and 11-04-09 at about 0800 hours an unknown suspect entered a house that is being remodeled and stole some building supply. He said the suspects were able to gain entry by an unsecured door. Grand Theft - W. Howry. A man reported that his roommate stole his clarinet. The victim stated when his Clarinet came up missing he told his father. A couple days later the dad saw the suspect walk into AAA gun and pawn with the instrument. The clarinet was found at the pawn shop. The suspect confessed to the theft. A complainant was completed on the suspect.
Recovered Stolen vehicle - Harrison Place. A Silver 2000 BMW Fla. tag# 203XEX that was reported as stolen out of Sanford was found occupied in the parking lot. As officers approached the vehicle two unknown b/ms exited the vehicle and ran west through the complex. CID processed the vehicle
Night Shift:
Car Burglary - S. Woodland Blvd: Sometime between 11/4 and 11/5 someone used a prying tool to remove a door window from a vehicle and gain entry.
Missing Person - S. Woodland Blvd: A man was reported missing by staff at Dixie Lodge after he failed to return at the designated time. He has apparently done this before and has been found in Daytona. Entered NCIC/FCIC with a bolo for a well being check.
Arson / Resisting w/o and DWLS - E. New Hampshire Ave. 18G: Officers were dispatched to Apple Wood reference a possible house fire. Upon arrival LEO observed smoke and encountered several people running after a vehicle yelling that the driver had set the apartment on fire. A traffic stop was initiated at which time the driver exited the vehicle with clinched fist and rapidly approached LEO despite orders to stop. Anticipating an assault, LEO deployed his ECD. City and State Fire investigators along with CIU responded. The investigation resulted in the suspect confessing to starting the fire during an argument with his girlfriend. He also had a suspended driver’s license. VCBJ.
