A 78-year-old man was killed when he lost control of his van on State Road 11, causing it to overturn several times shortly after 10 a.m. Oct. 28, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.
The victim, William Trombley of DeLand, was alone in his van as he drove south on the highway, FHP Cpl. Mark Kuczynski said. Near the intersection of Evergreen Terrace. The driver ran off the roadway for an unknown reason, overcorrected and overturned several times.
Trombley, who Kuczynski said was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to Florida Hospital-DeLand, where he was pronounced dead.
The crash remains under investigation, Kuczynski said.
