For the first time on stage, The Athens Theater in Historic DeLand, FL presents the Spanish theatrical play Tierra Rebelde (Rebellious Land). The Grand Premier will start Friday, March 22 by rolling out the Blue Carpet supporting the Fight Against Child Abuse and the play will continue with two more presentations on Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24.
Tierra Rebelde is the story of a young girl marked by child abuse and violation. Performed in Spanish, scene after scene we see the conflict, the guilty ones, and the struggle for Lucia to survive and become a transformed and vital person. Tierra Rebelde also entails a story of love and the capacity to forgive with lessons of justice against those who attack the innocence of a child through physical and sexual abuse. A story from the mind of Samuel R. Andrade and written by Mario Antonio Rosa, Rebellious Land is an actual testimony and a message of hope and overcoming through inner growth and healing. With moments of joy, comedy, and reflection...Rebellious Land will change YOUR LIFE!!!
A VIP International Network for the Arts production and presented by SLE, Tierra Rebelde is an outstanding theatrical play that will give the audience a connection with the feelings and the lifelong consequences of child abuse. Tierra Rebelde will bring about awareness in a very distinct form and it will give those touched by this epidemic the hope and the necessary tools to be transformed and become vital persons of our society. Only then can we truly say that we are winning the fight...
Admission to the play: $18 (Pre Admission) or $20 (At Door).
