The grandparents loved it. The kids loved it. So did a dog with an event wristband on its leg and a miniature pig walking the grounds of Green Springs Park in Enterprise, cadging bites of chili from their owners. It was the sixth annual Old Enterprise Chili Cook Off, and most everyone seemed to have a great time.
Winners for chili cooking were: first place, Mark Matzinger; second place, Bob Weathers and third place Jan Woolridge.
The cook-off raised funds for the Enterprise Preservation Society’s restoration of the old 1930s Enterprise schoolhouse. The event netted $2,800 toward the restoration.
