StetsonU Jazz Concert to feature guest saxophonist Dan Jordan Feb. 27

Daniel Jordan, nationally recognized jazz educator and musician, will perform with the Stetson University Jazz Ensemble, Don Waldrop, director, on Wednesday, Feb. 27.

The concert, which is open to the public, will be at 7:30 p.m., in the Stetson Room, second floor of the Carlton Union Building, 131 E. Minnesota Ave., DeLand.

Ticket prices for general admission is $10; seniors $8; area students $5; free to the Stetson University community with ID and concert series card holders.

Jordan will also be teaching a master class at Stetson on Saturday, Feb. 23, 11 a.m. in the Feasel Rehearsal Hall, inside McMahan Hall, 417 N. Woodland Blvd. It is free and open to the public.

Daniel Jordan has been an educator and musician since 1976. He has a flexible and common sense approach to teaching and playing. He was titled as Florida All State Jazz Band Tenor one for 1976-1977. He has taught at numerous schools including Rollins College and has performed with a multitude of renowned artists such as Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Barry Manilow, The Four Tops, The Temptations and many more. He has performed on New York City Broadway, “Late Night with David Letterman,” and in countless other shows and productions.
