Florida Hospital Director of Health & Performance Earns New Certifications

SPECIAL TO THE BEACON

posted Feb 20, 2013 - 3:23:26pm

Jill Piazza, Florida Hospital Volusia/Flagler Director of Health and Performance, has received the National Wellness Institute’s Certified Worksite Wellness Specialist (CWWS) and Certified Worksite Wellness Program Manager (CWWPM) certifications.

To earn these certifications by the National Wellness Institute, Piazza completed two two-day courses, both with final exams.

With the foundational knowledge gained from earning both certifications, Piazza aims to build a results-oriented wellness program to improve the overall health of the hospital-system’s employees. Piazza is developing an employee focus to the existing community wellness program Change Your LifeSM with Florida Hospital. This new aspect of the program will focus on implementing a comprehensive employee wellness program at all five of the Florida Hospital Volusia/Flagler campuses.

“The intent of a program like this is to foster healthy lifestyle habits in an effort to combat the rising cost of chronic disease,” said Piazza. “Fostering a healthy workforce will help to positively impact how our employees perform at their jobs and follow the hospital’s mission, but most of all, it is the right thing to do.”
