A 19-year-old DeLand man who deputies said was driving while his license was suspended has been charged in the Feb. 13 hit-and-run in Deltona that sent a 4-year-old boy to the hospital.
Jeremy Vega was out of prison on probation when the crash happened, deputies said.
He was arrested Feb. 18 and charged with failure to stop at a crash resulting in injury, driving with a suspended license, and violation of probation.
The 4-year-old, Luis Ortiz, suffered compound fractures to his upper left leg and lower right leg.
