A rash of car burglaries at Gemini Springs Park in DeBary demonstrates that perhaps it isn't good to leave valuables inside a parked car — even when it's locked.
One couple found their credit cards, which were stolen from the man's wallet and the woman's purse, were already being used by the time they returned to their car Feb. 10 and found the items missing.
They had believed their wallets were safe, hidden inside a locked car, the Volusia County Sheriff's Office reported.
It was one of six car burglaries in the park since the beginning of the year.
Thieves were already shopping with the credit cards when the couple reported the theft to their credit-card companies, the Sheriff's Office reported.
"One shopping expedition was to Marshall's Department Shore in Orlando, where investigators obtained the video showing a man and a young boy buying shoes," the report said.

Anyone with information about the man in the video is asked to call the Sheriff's Office district office in DeBary at 386-668-3830, or call Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida at 1-888-277-TIPS; text Crime Stoppers at TIP231, plus the message. Tipsters will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.

The stupid Debary City Council could have used some of the money it wasted on sports punks and parks for more security...do we really need more sports and Parks Johnny?
What if a woman is raped next at Gemini Springs Park...is DUMB JOHNNY going to say she should not have showed up at the park so attractive.
For the dumb johnnys of the world I suggest an education asap.
Go read the police reports johnny ...that is where you begin learning about how american criminals operate.....it will not be entertaining for Johnny...but he can try.
They already have warning signs at Gemini Springs about valuables.
What if they caught the guys doing this? So, they would bail out the same day.
The perps would be as broke and desperate after they got outta jail as before they went in.
The Sunrail jobsite near Gemini was burgled again second time...the metal recycling place near there was burguled 3 times in the last month....it is just broke and desperate people doing what they do , get used to it.
Debary can build more parks and have more baseball games that should help...maybe monument signs will help...higher taxes....LMAO

Local governments do not need to be involved in financing Soccer Stadiums so private businesses can make the money.
But LOBBYISTS from Sports corporations like the Philadelphis Union influence elected officials like PAT NORTHEY. Read the recent article on this rag about how pro soccer is going to save the Deltona economy....what a crock of B/S.
Orlando is buying the same B/S...they have a study on how much money soccer is going to brng in the local economy...YET fail to mention if any will get back to the taxpayers.
Politicians are under the influence of the influential...the people are not watching and get what they deserve.

She asked to have something put on the agenda....nothing happened...because Debary City Council members are super selfish and only care about THEIR AGENDAS.
Ask Dan Parrott why and how the ignorant city of Debary cares only about our worthless city councilmmembers and their phony personal projects...ask him.

Ask Debary councilmembers....why we are a city of IMAGE...the reality of crime, poverty and foolish city spending does not count to our councilmembers at all.
I can remember a lady coming before the Debary City Council early last year complaining about her breakin at Gemini Springs Park...the council did nothing...as usual. They claimed they will not tolerate such activity...and did nothing BUT tolerate more crime.
But the BIG SPENDERS on the Debary City Council spent $500,000 on more uneeded mini parks for DEBARY'S IMAGE. This is the answer from a disconnected decadent city council.
Perhaps the Debary City council should concern itself with the REALITY of living in crime bitten Debary...not just the phony DEBARY IMAGE. Call city hall 386 668-2040 ask why the city refuses to address 'reality issues' in Debary, ask the silly 'image obsessed' councilmembers their email addresses are on the city website.
This city council also gave its residents a new tax hike..thanks Dan Parrott...Hunt,Carson, Lita and Koval only the mayor stood against this decadent irresponsible city council.
