DELAND – Florida Hospital DeLand has selected Melissa Gaston, RN, BSN, to serve as Quality Manager for Clinical Effectiveness.
In her new role, Gaston will lead the Clinical Effectiveness team and is responsible for the management of performance improvement programs such as core measures, Quest/Partnership for Patients and other clinical process measures.
Gaston most recently served as the Performance Improvement Coordinator at Florida Hospital Flagler in Palm Coast where she collected and aggregated data for various performance improvement initiatives and functioned as the Adventist Health System Patient Safety Organization Liaison. Gaston also coordinated the physician peer review and FPPE/OPPE programs.
Gaston, an Ormond Beach resident, graduated from Daytona Beach Community College in 2001 with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing. In 2008, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Jacksonville University. She is a member of the Florida Association for Healthcare Quality and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. Gaston is currently pursuing her Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality certification.
