Central Florida’s ultimate ’80s cover band The A+Team will rock in the new year at the Athens.

The DeLand Breakfast Rotary, which is organizing the concert on behalf of West Volusia Young Life, invites you to spend New Year’s Eve at the historic Athens Theatre in Downtown DeLand.

This is the Rotary club's second New Year's Eve fundraiser for the teen outreach program.

Young Life has been serving the DeLand community since 1984. Area director Aaron Underwood is looking forward to another successful event this year.

“The fact the community embraces Young Life the way it does, proves that DeLand really cares about future generations,” Underwood said.

The A+Team is also ready to ring in 2013 at the Athens.

“We can’t wait to play. We hope to sell out the Athens and raise as much money as we can for Young Life,” bassist Rusty Hamil said.

There will be a cash bar with beer, wine and mixed drinks, as well as food for purchase from Firehouse BBQ.

Soft drinks, bottled water, coffee and breakfast will be available throughout the event, and complimentary champagne will be provided just before midnight.

Adult volunteer leaders of Young Life will be offering complimentary safe rides home to ticket-holders.

Tickets cost $30 in advance or $35 on the day of the event, and can be purchased at the following locations: MorganStanley, 231 N. Woodland Blvd.; NewFangled Modern Market, 102 S. Woodland Blvd.; Trophy Factory Plus Framing, 111 W. Rich Ave.; and Town and Country Realty, 516 W. New York Ave.

Another community garageband at a facility that cost taxpayers how many millions of dollars? I guess if you want quality entertainment you must travel elsewhere.
