The Stetson Hatter men's basketball team will be back on the Glenn Wilkes Court in the Edmunds Center at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, hosting the Florida International University Golden Feathers (2-3), seeking to snap a five-game losing streak.

The Hats (2-5) dropped an 88-78 decision to the Florida Atlantic University Owls of the Sun Belt Conference here Dec. 6.

The Dec. 9 game will be the Hatters' final home game for 2012. Scheduled road trips will have them going to Richmond, Va., Dec. 15, and then playing a return game with Florida Atlantic in Boca Raton, a game at the University of Central Florida, and the Hatters' Atlantic Sun Conference opener at Mercer Dec. 31.

The Hats were tied only once with the Owls at 2-2, with the visitors leading by as many as 18 points in the game. The Hats closed to within 7, but the lead was too much to overcome.

Senior Greg Gantt paced the Owls, nailing 13 of his 23 field-goal attempts to finish with 34 points. Freshman Stefan Moody came off the bench to contribute 17 points. Senior Jordan McCoy and junior Pablo Bertone each chipped in with 12 points. Gantt also went to the glass for seven rebounds.

Stetson had a balanced attack, just not enough of it. Senior Adam Pegg led the way, canning 10 of 17 field goals to finish with 24 points. Freshman Logan Irwin, 13; junior Chris Perez, 12; and senior Joel Naburgs, 11, followed. Junior Willie Green swept the glass for 10 of the Hatters' 29 rebounds.
