President Obama in the White House, so placing the official vote will be a bittersweet moment,” Johnson said.

The electors sign, seal, and certify six sets of electoral votes. A set consists of one Certificate of Ascertainment and one Certificate of Vote.

One set will be delivered to Vice President Joe Biden, the president of the U.S. Senate, for the official count of the electoral votes on Jan. 6, 2013.

Two sets will go to the secretary of state in the state where the electors meet, two will go to the archivist, and one set will go to the presiding judge in the district where the electors meet.

"I am truly humbled by the gesture; it's more motivation to keep working hard," Johnson said.
