Hanging of the Greens
First Presbyterian Church of DeLand will celebrate the Hanging of the Greens service 12:15-3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25.
Based on an English tradition, the service falls on the first Sunday in Advent, when the church sanctuary is decorated with evergreen wreaths, boughs or trees that symbolize the new and everlasting life brought through Jesus, and signals the beginning of the Christmas season.
An Advent Celebration Workshop will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, in the church’s fellowship hall.
