You wouldn't be able to tell it by the final score, but anytime the Stetson Hatters men's basketball team has to look back at a "cold" start, they will check Monday, Nov. 19.
The Hats (2-1) took command of the game and produced an 81-59 win over the Southeastern University Fire (7-2). The Hats will be back in action in the Edmunds Center at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, hosting the University of South Florida Bulls.
About the "cold" start, the visitors scored the first bucket with 4:19 gone in the game. The Hats didn't find the scoreboard until Aaron Graham tallied a 3-pointer with 6:34 played. After that, the Hats caught fire and cruised to a 32-13 halftime lead en route to the win.
Chris Perez paced the Hats with 20 points and six rebounds, as he had plenty of help from Adam Pegg, 14; both Joel Naburgs and Graham chipped in with 13, with Liam Mclnerney also grabbing six rebounds.
The visiting Fire also placed four players in double figures, with Jordan Talley hitting 12 and Patrick Ryan adding 11, while Povilas Gaidys and Brandon Moore each had 10.
