The Stetson Hatter cross-country teams closed out their 2012 season at the Atlantic Sun Conference championship hosted by Florida Gulf Coast University in Lee County Oct. 27.
The Hatter men finished ninth in the 8K event with 295 points, with Jacksonville University 10th. The University of South Carolina Upstate edged East Tennessee State, 49-53.
The individual winner was Gilbert Kemboi of USC Upstate, who was clocked in a time of 24:16.7. DeLand junior Andrew Epifanio paced the Hatters placing 55th in 27:45.4.
Lipscomb claimed the women's 5K team title with 40 points, followed by the University of North Florida with 63. Stetson was 19th with 293.
Individual honors went to Joane Pierre of Jacksonville, who clocked in 17:17.5. Trixi Menge placed 51st in leading the Hats, with a time of 20:05.6.
