ORANGE CITY — The Orange City University Titans footballers were on the road Oct. 18 visiting the undefeated Lake Mary Rams, where they were handled roughly by the District 2-8A leader, 44-7, in a District 2-8A encounter.
The win was the seventh-straight for the Rams, with the Titans slipping under the .500 barrier at 3-4. The hosts worked ahead to a 30-0 lead at halftime.
The Titans were successful during one stage of the game, as in the third quarter, Josh Diaz gathered in a 26-yard scoring pass from quarterback Randy Cianciotto, with Adair Casas tacking on the point after. It might not seem like much, but it snapped a five-game shutout string by the Rams.
Cianciotto completed 12 of 19 passes for 113 yards, with eight to his favorite target, Diaz, for 91 yards.
The Titans will be on the road Friday, Oct. 26, for their fourth-straight game, when they visit the Lyman Greyhounds in Longwood. That will leave the Titans hosting Lake Brantley Friday, Nov. 2, and the Pine Ridge Panthers Thursday, Nov. 8 — both on the Deltona High School field.

Things don't get any easier for the Wolves, as Friday, Nov. 2, they will be making the short trip to New Smyrna Beach, where currently the Barracudas rule the district in undefeated fashion.
The regular season winds down for the Wolves Friday, Nov. 9, by hosting the once-beaten Deltona Trinity Christian Eagles in a non-district test.

Mainland added 14 points in the second stanza against the Panthers for a 42-0 lead at the half, and tacked on 5 points in the fourth quarter.
The Panthers will be hosting the Seabreeze SandCrabs at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26; will be idle Friday, Nov 2; and will then close out the season with the Orange City University Titans Thursday, Nov. 8, at Deltona High School.
