FloridaWild Veterinary Hospital and ARK Animal Rescue are offering a four-hour seminar on dog training noon-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, at Stetson University's Gillespie Museum Rinker Environmental Center, 234 E. Michigan Ave.
The cost to participate is $5 and includes a training notebook, pen and practice worksheets. People and dogs are welcome.
The seminar will be led by professional dog-trainer Alison Curtiss. Curtiss has been a local dog trainer and behaviorist for 30 years.
Topics to be discussed include the best and worst equipment on the market, how to guess what your dog is thinking, identifying the right training methods for your dog, and solving common behavior problems.
There will also be a supervised 30-minute practice with your dog or an adoptable dog from ARK Animal Rescue.
