Please support Carl Persis for county chair

I am writing in support of the candidacy of Carl Persis for county chair.

Carl has lived most of his life in Volusia County. He was educated at Daytona State College, the University of Central Florida and Stetson University.

He served as an educator for 35 years in the Volusia school system; during the latter part of that time providing leadership to seven schools as principal. He was a member of the Ormond Beach City Commission and served two terms as mayor. He was elected to the Volusia County Council in 2004.

Carl has proven to be a thoughtful, intelligent and pragmatic consensus-builder. He is a strong voice for preservation of those unique aspects of all areas of Volusia County, which enrich the experiences of residents and visitors alike.

Carl has well-deserved and broad support across political lines. He understands the importance of cooperation and partnerships between and among local governments.

For all of these reasons, I strongly urge your vote for Carl Persis for Volusia County chair.
