The Museum of Florida Art in DeLand is launching its Gallery Talk and Tour Series 6:30-8:30 p.m. today, Thursday, Aug. 30, and will have guest speakers and artists available to discuss the museum’s exhibitions.

We are excited to announce that our first guest, Wendy M. Blazier, will be reviewing the current exhibition “From the Outside In,” featuring the paintings of Purvis Young. Ms. Blazier is a published art historian and veteran museum professional. She has been active in South Florida for more than 30 years as a museum curator, lecturer, juror, and strong advocate for today’s contemporary artists working in all media. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to explore the works of Purvis Young.

The Gallery Talk and Tour Series continues 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, with the Museum of Florida Art’s education curator, Pam Coffman, leading the tour for “Mad Science,” an exhibition featuring the works of artists KYLE and Jim Jipson. There will be a conversation with the artist KYLE following the tour.

Please visit our website, www.museumoffloridaart.org, for a complete schedule of our Gallery Talk and Tour Series. Museum members may attend for free, and the cost for nonmembers is $10.
