Celebrating Kwanzaa — Eric Bynes, right, lights a candle at a Kwanzaa celebration Dec. 29 at the Dr. Noble “Thin Man” Watts Amphitheater on South Clara Avenue in DeLand, while Ruby Archie looks on. Each of the seven candles reflects one of the seven principles of Kwanzaa — unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity and faith.
