ORANGE CITY – Florida Hospital Fish Memorial announced today that William Von Bargen, DO, has joined its medical staff. A doctor of osteopathic medicine, Dr. Von Bargen is board-certified in family medicine. He treats a wide variety of acute and chronic medical conditions and works with patients of all ages — from newborns to elderly adults.

“Osteopathic medicine is very effective for patients with chronic health or medical issues that are not improving, even though they have tried all of the usual medical approaches to healing,” said Dr. Von Bargen. “As a family physician, I use every treatment tool available. I listen to patients and look at them as a whole person, not an isolated ailment or condition. In my opinion, that’s the approach any good doctor should use.”

Dr. Von Bargen received his doctorate of osteopathic medicine from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and completed a family medicine residency at Florida Hospital East in Orlando. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in molecular and microbiology from the University of Central Florida.

His professional experience includes six years as an urgent care physician working at Florida Hospital CentraCare. In addition to his urgent care and occupational medicine responsibilities, Dr. Von Bargen held numerous leadership positions at CentraCare. He served on the Medical Executive Committee, as laboratory director and as chairperson of the unusual diagnoses monthly case report. He also trained staff members on CentraCare’s Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.

Prior to joining CentraCare, Dr. Von Bargen practiced at Waterford Lakes Family Medicine and at the Dr. Robert Law Internal Medicine and Pediatrics office in Orlando.

Dr. Von Bargen is a member of the American Osteopathic Association.

In addition to treating acute and chronic medical conditions, Dr. Von Bargen will provide in-office procedures including certain types of biopsies, injury treatment, injections to alleviate painful joints, suturing and other essential services. He will offer extended hours for patients who cannot reach his office during the day. Dr. Von Bargen is currently accepting new patients. His office is located at 2783 Elkcam Boulevard, Unit 203, Deltona, Florida 32738 and he may be reached at 386-917-7636.
