Expanded school opens — Joe Disanti, Volusia-market president for Fifth Third Bank, and Margaret Comardo, principal of The Reading Edge Academy in DeBary, cut a ribbon to officially open the charter school's 17,695-square-foot expansion. The school at 2975 Enterprise Road is one of Volusia County's most longstanding charter schools. The expansion will allow space for approximately 100 additional students and will add eight classrooms for the third, fourth and fifth grades, plus a kitchen, a “cafetorium,” a physical-education office, an art room and a music and computer lab. Fifth Third Bank provided the loan for the project.
