The Caffé da Vinci in DeLand, with music, libation and and an old-Florida atmosphere, closed in March.
Its regular clientele mourned the closing.
Now, the place, renamed simply "daVinci," is renovated and reopening with a music festival, starting at 5 p.m. today, Thursday, Oct. 8, and running through Sunday night, Oct. 11.
Joshua Curry, new owner, said, "Basically, the music spans jazz-blues to 1960s-80s-influenced originals and covers, to funk/reggae/ska to Americana alternative country to indie rock!"
Local favorites Magda Hiller and Lauris Vidal are on the lineup, along with other popular groups.
In addition to being a favorite gathering spot for locals, the establishment — and its two stages, an art gallery with a bar, and a shaded courtyard decorated with an eclectic array of salvaged furniture and art from next-door Florida Victorian Antiques— has been an important Central Florida venue for live music.
DaVinci is at 112 W. Howry Ave. in DeLand. There is no cover charge during the music festival.
