A 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, house fire in Deltona displaced six residents. Deltona Fire Department officials declared the structure a total loss.
Firefighters arrived at 464 Priscilla Ave. to find heavy fire and thick black smoke coming from the roof and back area of the residence. Eighteen firefighters made an aggressive attack on the fire but were unable to stop the blaze.
It took firefighters 32 minutes to get the fire under control, but hours to overhaul and totally extinguish it.
There were no firefighter or civilian injuries; however the American Red Cross was called to the scene to assist three adults and three children who would be displaced from their home.
The fire was determined to be caused by an electrical problem in the area of the back porch.
