"My Next 37 Years"
— as performed by Ted Shistle at Stan O'Neal's retirement party
I think I'll take a moment to celebrate my age
Ending of an era and the turning of a page
Now it's time to focus in on where I go from here
Lord have mercy on my next 37 years
In my next 37 years I'm going to have some fun
Try to forget about all teaching that I've done
No, there won't be any of those early morning tears
I'll do it better in my next 37 years
My next 37 years I won't care about FCAT scores
No grading papers, I'm walking out that door
Find a world of happiness without the students near
God, thanks for helping me through my last 37 years
Oh my next 37 years, I'm going to gain some weight
Eat more sweets and donuts and learn to stay up late
Drink a little less water and down a few more beers
Gonna be exciting — these next 37 years?
(Chorus)
My next 37 years will be the best years of my life
Gonna camp and golf and hang out with my wife
Spend precious moments with the folks I hold dear
Can't wait to see what's up in my next 37 years
