Spring football for the Taylor Wildcats was wrapped up here Wednesday evening on Swanson Field with the visiting Orlando Agape Christian Saints scoring an 18-6 triumph.
The visitors scored on the opening series of the game and then tacked on a pair of 6-pointers in the second half. The game was delayed before the opening kickoff by lightning, but once it started, it was a good evening, with Swanson Field in great condition.
Trailing 18-0, the ’Cats finally found the end zone following a pass interception and three plays later a 14-yard TD run by Carl Bentley. Taylor almost scored on the final play of the night, but a pass interception at the 1-yard line cost them.
Taylor has elected to go independent for the next two seasons and then maybe return to a district. We’ll have more on this game in our next publication.
