Pro baseball notes

Here are some shorts on familiar players from this area playing pro baseball.

Chipper Jones with the Atlanta Braves is hitting .306 in 37 games with seven doubles, a triple and four home runs.

Luke Scott in 30 games with the Baltimore Orioles is hitting .311 with six homers and six doubles.

Michael Main in the California “A” League is 4-4 with 40.2 innings walking 25 and fanning 29.

Brian Bocock with Connecticut “AA” and San Jose of the Giants is hitting .171 and .213, respectively.

Shane Jordan is also at San Jose hitting .157 with a triple and double.

Justin Bass is with the “A” Greensboro Grasshoppers and in 28 games has boosted his average to .273 with six homers, a triple and two doubles.

Chris Johnson is working back from an injury with a stay at “A” Lancaster where he hit .438 and back to “AAA” Round Rock hitting .267 in 13 games.

Lenny DiNardo with the “AAA” Omaha Royals is 3-1 with a 3.52 ERA in 46 innings with 33 strikeouts and nine walks.

Couldn’t come up with any stats for Emary Frederick.

Gary Glover was at “AAA” Syracuse the last we heard at 2-3 with a 6.32 ERA, whiffed nine, and walked three in 15.2 innings.

Corey Kluber in the San Diego “A” farm system is 4-4 with a 4.35 ERA in 51.2 innings with 49 strikeouts and 16 bases on balls.

Nathan Nery is 3-0 at an “A” Baltimore farm club with a solid 1.17 ERA working 23 innings ringing 19 up on strikes and walking seven.

Nick Pugliese is 0-0 with an ERA of 7.04 in 7.2 innings posting seven strikeouts and walking five at a Los Angeles Angels farm club.

Nick Regilio with the “AM” Toledo Mud Hens with an 0-1 record in 15 innings with a .360 ERA with 13 walks and 11 strikeouts.

There could well be some additional players seeing action, but at this time these are the only ones that were found.
