The district baseball-tournament action is already going for our West Volusia teams, as well as others around the state.
Spruce Creek is hosting the 2-6A Tournament, with Flagler Palm Coast the top seed, followed by Deltona, DeLand, Spruce Creek and Pine Ridge.
Pine Ridge and Spruce Creek were scheduled to play Monday, with DeLand and Deltona playing Tuesday, followed by FPC facing the Monday-night winner. The two victors from Tuesday’s action will be gunning for the championship at 7 p.m. today, April 30.
The Taylor Wildcats are seeded No. 5 in the 6-3A, which they are hosting on John R. Prehn Field. The ’Cats and Crescent City were to open play Monday. Lake Butler Union County and Interlachen were to play Tuesday, followed by No. 1 Keystone Heights taking on the Taylor-CC winner. Again, the two Tuesday winners shoot for the championship at 7 p.m. today, April 30.
No. 1-seeded Deltona Trinity Christian will be playing in 5-1A, which is being played at Lake Mary Prep. Calvary and Penial were to start the action Monday. Trinity was to face that winner on Tuesday, with Warner Christian and Lake Mary Prep following. The title is up for grabs at 7 p.m. Friday.
