Recent action from the DeLand Parks and Recreation Department Softball League found B&O Cleaners nipping the Canes, 19-18, with 33 and 31 hits, respectively.
Eddie O'Quinn, Mike Gasperson and Don Lesher each doubled and singled three times for the victors. Daryl Badger Sr. doubled twice and singled, while Pete Wierzbirck doubled and singled
twice. Craig Whitaker keyed the losers with a triple and four one-baggers. Mike Carter homered and singled three times, while Ben Dahl added a double and a trio of singles, as did Steve Hundrizer. Bobby Hughes tripled, doubled and singled. Gary Parliment doubled and singled twice, and Chuck Green had three singles.
St. Peter's Red bested CCDS, 20-7, as Lyle Miller homered, doubled and singled twice. Chris Lewis doubled and singled twice, among those with full names. Richie Poore homered in the setback.
Canvas defeated Presbyterian, 13-8, with Bob Stewart Jr. with a triple and two singles. Dungan Jerrett doubled twice and singled, while Ben Collins homered and singled. Tim Poore doubled and singled twice in the loss.
FUM shaded Calvary, 8-7, as Kyle Marshall and Heath Altier each doubled and singled twice. Les Miller added a trio of one-baggers. Danny Tillis doubled and singled three times. Jeremy Whidden and Steve Young each had a double and two singles, while Joel Bebe and Johnny Whidden each poked three singles.
ProTran tallied five runs in the top of the seventh inning, and then held off Skydive for a 12-10 win. Frank Ceasario paced the win with a homer, a double and two singles. Corey Nordman homered and singled twice. Brandon Tomsom tripled and singled twice, with three singles from Pat Firora and Scott West. In the defeat, A.J. Burns homered twice, and had two singles. Perry Cummings and Tony Smelt each added a home run and two singles.
Stetson Red was a 13-4 winner over Sanctuary, behind a home run and a triple by Andy Ezell. Bryan Gregg tripled, doubled and singled for the losers.
Covidien defeated Boulevard Tire, 18-14, but neither team had complete names listed.
Home Plate was a 16-7 victor over Trader Jack's. Eric Graves singled four times in the win, while Mike Destafanio and Sam Floyd each tripled and singled twice. Billy Swofford singled three times. T. Buckner homered and singled.
Half Times took a pair of wins from Airport. The first was 18-15, as Eric Mulroney homered twice and doubled, while Jay Henry had a pair of four-baggers, and a single. Luis Lugo, Joito Arguarllas, Jerry Smith and Eric Watercutter each had three singles. Tom Belkey collected a homer, two doubles and a single for the losers. Brandon Worrell doubled twice and hit a pair of singles. Frankie Cordetti tripled and singled twice, Steve Bates added a double and two singles, and Garrett Roland singled three times.
In the second game, Mulroney homered, doubled and singled. Oscar Garcia and Henry each homered and singled, with four-baggers from Richie Dennard and Arguarllas. Mike Hulsey singled three times in the loss, while Roland homered and singled.
CCA bested Calvary, 13-10, as Royce Hagstrom, Justin Fleming and Jacob Puckett each singled three times. Ryan Ward homered and singled. Shawn Tills had a trio of singles in the setback.
Eight runs in the seventh inning lifted First Assembly to a 10-9 nod over Plymouth Avenue Christian, as Fred Beller singled three times. In the loss, Kyle Vermillion homered and singled twice. Chance Thomas added two doubles and a single, while Jeff Dawson and Jamie Bataille each doubled and singled twice.
DeLeon Springs United Methodist edged LifePoint, 13-12, as Jimmy Drury homered and singled. No complete name for the leading hitter for the losers.
St. Peter's White shaded Stetson Blue, 6-5, as Kevin Gillette and Tom Stonesifer each stroked three singles. Joey Linebaner singled three times in the setback.
Five Star bested the Pin-ups, 12-9, as Steve Elliott homered. tripled, doubled and singled. Connie Rickert, Daryl Badger and Justin Rickert each had three singles. Worrell homered, and singled three times in the loss.
The Gators clipped Costa, 17-15, as Tim Foley homered and singled twice, with three one-baggers from Thomas Buckner, among those with full names. No complete names for the losers.
Brickhouse tallied 11 times in the first inning, and held on for a 21-18 win over F.O.A. Sheri Iguario poked five singles, and Chris McMurtry added three for the victors. Mike Destafanio homered, doubled and singled in the defeat, while Tom Durham doubled twice and singled.
Tom's Pizza downed Alpha, 15-5, as Jamie Hassell doubled and singled three times, and Jason Hoffmann singled four times. Sam Story and Chris Carroll each doubled and singled twice, with three one-baggers from Tracy Carroll and Bataille. Carl Austin and Carter each doubled and singled for the losers.
Classic Brick topped Dynamite, 15-12, as Larson Hagstrom homered twice and doubled. Pat Burkhart doubled three times, and Bobby Burns doubled and singled twice. Raymond O'Neal homered twice and singled. Bates homered and doubled, Tyler Winfrey doubled and singled twice, and Ray Middleton homered and singled.
Volusia Landscapers topped Wal-Mart, 16-7, as Joe Herndon doubled and singled four times, and Tyler Voss homered, doubled and singled. Richard Arnold doubled and singled twice in the defeat.
