DeLeon Springs resident wins Greatest Bowl of Chili

DeLand residents place in Chili Appreciation Society International Showmanship, Open Chili, Open Showmanship, and Rotary Chili Pot for Charity categories.
These are the winners of the Great Bowls of Fire Chili Cookoff.
Greatest Bowl of Chili — Decided by public vote
Hanz Brady — Louisiana Heat — DeLeon Springs
Rotary Chili Pot Challenge for Charity
First place went to the Rotary Club of DeLand (Noontime Rotary), which collected the most money in its chili pot, $541.36. The money will be split among the West Volusia Historical Society, MainStreet DeLand and the Rotary Club, for the charity of its choice.
Open Showmanship:
1st — Christy Krueger and Shari Hazelton (Anasazi Chili Co.), DeLand
2nd — Hanz Brady — Louisiana Heat — DeLeon Springs
3rd — Sandy Adams (The Chili Dawgs) — Good Ole Chili — DeLand
Open Chili:
1st — John Poage, (Bright House Networks) — Cattle Cracker Red — Palm Coast
2nd — Lisa Seal (Oakwood Gardens) — Sneaky Chili — DeLand
3rd — John Soety — Extra Super Tasty Chili — DeLand
Chili Appreciation Society International Showmanship:
1st — Jimmy L. Maturo — Silver Wings I — Niceville
2nd — Tom Newbury (Kermit's Key West Key Lime Shop) — Hurricane Heat — DeLand
3rd — John Soety — Chili Caliente con Limon — DeLand

Both my husband & I voted for him, it truly was a very unique chili. I actually craved it this weekend. The combination of hot and sweet was sublime! I hope he releases the recipe, I don't want to wait a year to eat it again!
