Moved here from up North where there were volunteers working with paid in harmony. When I stopped by and talked to one of the "professional" about volunteering, I was told not to bother, they didn't need untrained help. Their loss, BA in Fire Science with certifications in Arson and Haz Mat. Over 15yrs experience with BUSY Ladder and Engine/Rescue company. From what I have seen, they do nothing more than "surround and drown". Look that term up and be the judge if they are worth the big bucks they require to sit around and act like REAL FIREFIGHTERS.
