Free speech is something I’m very much in favor of, and I don’t believe we have a legal right not to be offended, but there are other issues involved, like the right of privacy: I don’t like being asked to share intimate details about my relationship with my heavenly Father any more than being grilled to share information about how things are going with the earthly one.

On the other hand, these groups believe they’re trying to save us from an eternity in the great microwave, and that it’s their duty to use every method possible to prevent that from happening. If this is true, they should be pro-abortion, because that’s the only way, according to this worldview, to guarantee that a soul has a definite entrée into heaven. Would you want to risk having your kid make the wrong decision after his birth?
