• Allowing granny flats, or small apartments that a homeowner may add onto a single-family dwelling for an elderly family member. The City Commission may permit additions as large as 400 square feet.
“That’s where you put the teenager that gives you a lot of trouble, or if your wife pushes you out,” Masiarczyk joked.
The proposed changes will be refined by the city’s planners and submitted to the Planning and Zoning Board for review, and then forwarded to the City Commission for final action, probably this spring.
