Our house was on the race route, and I had forgotten about the flyers notifying us that the race would be that Saturday when I woke to blasting music ("Eye of the Tiger", theme from "Rocky"). I jumped up and saw hundreds of people running past our house. What an inspiring "wake-up call" for a lazy Saturday morning! Not only did it wake me up literally, it has inspired me to start walking/running in preparation for next year--a wake-up call for my own health and for helping those in our community who are battling cancer. Made me proud of DeLand!
