When ARK started out 3 years or so ago they did not have a rescue center. They had a network of people who cared about homeless animals in our community and opened their homes to them as foster parents. They organized adoption events and had awareness booths at many community events. Since then ARK has successfully adopted out over 400 dogs and cats many who would have been put down if not given a second chance. It is very unfortunate that the rescue center became overcrowded and out of control. However most of the foster parents who help ARK have nothing to do with the rescue center. I hope that people in our community understand the fact that ARK is not just one person. ARK still has many foster parents and their devotion to help these animals should not be grouped in with the problems that occurred at the rescue center. I really hope that ARK volunteers will continue doing what they do best and I hope that if anything good comes of this that more people step up and consider fostering as well.
