bystander at trial | posted Nov 20, 2012 - 9:14:54am
As a bystander at the trial yesterday I felt the DA Darren Elkind stated his overwhelming case with Veterinarians to prove that ARK neglected the animals with no question. There was a 10 minute recess due to ARK's lawyer who was beyond unprofessional and bumbling. And showing up in court with his Radio Flyer Red Wagon. I felt at that point like I could have worn flip flops and undershirt and been appropriate. Throughout the hearing, the judge was chewing gum. This was supposed to be a professional hearing? And in the end, a plea bargain was made that the animals will not be returned, but she can continue to conduct business and was not guilty of neglect. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? If 136 animals are removed and you see the video of the filth and illness, maggots, blood and feces everywhere, you would have been appalled. How could such a travesty of justice taken place knowing that the prosecutor had a firm case yet accepted a plea bargain. Darren Elkind should be ashamed of himself, the evidence spoke for itself and I wonder how he sleeps at night.
Are you sure this is what you would like to do?
